Workers’ Comp 101 for Staffing Agencies: What Makes Staffing Agencies Unique?

In addition to offering business development services, LCIA also offers programs to educate and inform you about your workers’ comp policy. Knowing how your policy is calculated, how to pay your bill, and what to do if you have a claim can save you time, money, and a lot of headaches. With this in mind, we host a monthly LCI Webinar Series on a variety of topics pertaining to your workers’ comp policy. This month’s LCI Webinar will focus on a specific industry: staffing agencies.

Why staffing agencies? For one, LCI insures several businesses whose focus is staffing. Additionally, there are several factors that make providing workers’ comp to employees at someone else’s workplace more complicated than if they were at your place of work.

During Wednesday’s webinar, Audit Manager Nancy Hebert will discuss the unique factors that apply to staffing agencies, and how they affect your workers’ comp policy. Some of these include:

  • Having workers performing different work in different industries
  • Sending your workers to a place of work that you do not manage and where you don’t know what training is offered
  • Having your employees work alongside workers over whom no control

Nancy will discuss how to overcome these challenges. She will also discuss steps all businesses can take to control workers’ comp costs, and why these steps are especially important for staffing agencies.

We hope you’ll join us for the hour-long webinar this Wednesday, May 14 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Contact me with any questions, or you can click here to register.
