A recent column in a prominent workers’ comp blog took workers’ comp companies to task for not doing enough in educating its insureds and its insureds’ employees on how to report a claim and how the claims process works. The article pointed out that the workers’ compensation system is complicated already, and without education about this system both insureds and their employees are in the dark.

Well, we at LCI Workers’ Comp go to great lengths to bring some light to this darkness. In the past we have sponsored workshops where representatives of the claims department are present to discuss step-by-step the claims process. All insureds are invited to attend these workshops and receive notices of their time and place. Our website’s claims page is full of useful information on how to report a claim; how a claim is managed; and what you can do to reduce your exposure to claims. Also in every insured’s policy package is information regarding claims issues, including important phone numbers to report a claim.
