LCIA to Host Two Events for Contractors in New Orleans

With almost half of LCI’s 3,500+ policyholders in the construction industry, LCIA is hosting two events in the coming weeks, each designed to meet the needs of the businesses in our largest industry.

On Thursday, June 9th, we will head to the ballpark to host Contractor Networking Night at Zephyr Field. We have rented a suite, so there will be food and drinks available, in addition to a great view of the game.

Inside the suite, there will be prime contractors and subcontractors alike. Attendees will represent specialties such as sheetrock, concrete, plumbing, and more, so there will be plenty of connections to be made. And because this is a policyholders only event, you can be sure anyone you meet has workers’ comp coverage.

Later this month, LCI is partnering with the Urban Conservancy and StayLocal to host Stormwater Management Opportunities: What Contractors Should Know. Properly managing stormwater can decrease street flooding and protect our homes and businesses from water damage. A city ordinance in New Orleans requires better water management practices in new construction.

The presenters at this day-long workshop will discuss the concept of stormwater management, and they will introduce attendees to new, water-friendly building materials and techniques.

Because demand is increasing, leaning good stormwater management practices and knowing how to use green infrastructure can provide business opportunities for contractors.

Even better, this workshop has been approved for 6 hours of continuing education for the Residential Contractor License by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors. Every attendee who holds a Residential Contractor License will receive 6 hours of CE credit.
