LCI Welcomes ULM Student Connor Sykes as a Summer Intern
6/16/2017 9:50:26 AM

LCI has a temporary addition to the team, Intern Connor Sykes. Connor recently completed his sophomore year at University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM), where he is majoring in Risk Management & Insurance.

Connor was born and raised in Tallulah, Louisiana, a town 50 miles east of Monroe. In addition to taking a full course load during the school year, Connor works nearly full time as an assistant manager of an ice cream shop. Connor stays busy with school and work, but when he finds free time, he spends it with his girlfriend. He also enjoys tinkering with car audio and lighting; he replaces radios, installs speakers, and upgrades lighting.

Connor’s first day at LCI was Monday, June 12, and he will work with us through early August. He is primarily working with LCI’s Loss Control Department, where he will coordinate visits and review reports. Connor will also learn about LCI’s other functions and shadow each of LCI’s other departments. He looks forward to learning about the underwriting process, observing a physical audit, and seeing the life of a claim.

Connor says he most looks forward to learning a little bit about each of LCI’s departments. We will check in with him later this summer to see what he thinks of his experience, and we will make sure to share his highlights at the end of the internship.
