  • What we’re reading:
    • New Session Set for Louisiana Small Contractors Program (Louisiana Economic Development, 1/4/18). The Louisiana Contractor Accreditation Institute (LCAI) helps small construction companies build a solid foundation for business growth, and the next session begins in February.
    • DOL Increases Maximum Penalty Amounts for OSHA Violations (EHS Today, 1/8/18). Louisiana’s workforce training program receives national recognition. The U.S. Department of Labor recently announced an increase in the maximum penalty amounts for violations of federal Occupational Safety and Health standards and regulation

    • Thursday, 1/18: "Compel and Persuade,” hosted by the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM at 1515 Poydras St. Cost: $10 for members, $20 for non-members.
    • Thursday, 1/18: "Entergy New Orleans Power Station Business Opportunity Forum,” Entergy Supplier Diversity & Development. 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM Joe Brown Park’s Gym. Cost: free.
    • Friday, 1/19: "Momentum: Marketing + Small Business Conference” hosted by 5 Stones Media in partnership with several business organizations. 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Southeastern Louisiana University. Cost: $10.
