  • The Baton Rouge Business Report published an article recently about the Louisiana Economic Development (LED) plan to launch new online tool to connect Louisiana businesses. The Louisiana Business Connection platform will allow Louisiana businesses to both solicit and offer their services to others businesses. Click here to read the Business Report article.


  • The Acadiana Society for Human Resource Management (ASHRM) is hosting a "Recent Developments in Labor and Employment Law” workshop on Wednesday, April 12 at 11:30 AM. Find more details on the ASHRM website.

Baton Rouge

  • Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) is hosting a Statewide Economic Development Summit. It will feature keynote presentations by Governor John Bel Edwards, Secretary of LED Don Pierson, Greg Burkart of Duff & Phelps, and Roberto Gallardo, Ph.D., of Mississippi State University Extension. Greater New Orleans:

  • Louisiana Comp Blog, which is presented by LCI Workers’ Comp, is hosting a "Comp in Focus” lunch on Tuesday, April 11 at Antoine’s Restaurant in New Orleans. The lunch, which costs $35 and is open to the public, will feature a discussion about employer fraud and the misclassification of workers when purchasing workers’ comp. Derrick Lee, an attorney with the Louisiana Workforce Commission will lead the discussion. Learn more and register here.
  • Web design firm and LCIA Opportunity Maker Get Online NOLA is hosting a "WordPress Website Workshop” in Houma on Wednesday April 12 from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Attendees will learn more how WordPress allows for affordable and editable websites. Click here for details.

North Louisiana

  • As reported by Biz. Magazine, the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the Annual Minority Business Opportunity Awards. The awards seek to recognize outstanding individuals or businesses who are making a difference in our community. Nominations are due by April 24. Click here to learn more.
  • The Association for Talent Development (ATD) North Louisiana chapter is hosting its general meeting on Thursday, April 13 in Bossier City. The theme of the meeting is "Creativity: 101. You are Creative.” Click here to learn more.
